EVOLUTION / 03 / 2024, RETOLD IN JULY 2025

The campaign
failed.

That sentence belongs here without being dressed up as a secret success.

FROM THENJULY 2025 / LOOKING BACK AT AN EARLIER ATTEMPT
The campaign failed.

From the story sequence where I described an early JetSynapse outreach campaign.

A very specific idea.

In that retrospective story, I described an early direction for JetSynapse: AI voice agents for private jet businesses. The outreach involved little toy robots and company cards with a code people could scan.

It is a more useful detail than saying I “started a company.” It shows an actual idea being tried. It also makes room for the fact that the campaign did not work.

This was an early chapter. It is not a description of the current JetSynapse offer, and it is not a case study about a client result.

The record does not give me a neat moral.

I could connect that failure to every thought I had later and make the sequence look tidy. But the later questions deserve their own dates. The criticism of templates, the focus on real business processes and the reflections on routine show up elsewhere in the record.

Looking back, that period raises a question I still care about: what does a business actually need, and what would it take to make an idea work there?

An interesting object in the mail and a useful result in a business are different things. A demo can be exciting before anyone has worked through the ordinary details of using it. These are questions to carry forward, not proof that one failed campaign taught me everything at once.

Then the story gets wider.

The next part of the retrospective moves toward Idaho and snowboarding. That is important to the shape of this notebook. The answer to one difficult season was not simply another business slogan.

There was a place I wanted to go. There were friends and family I would leave behind. The business questions and the life questions were happening at the same time.

I want to keep both in view. A company is a real part of my life. It is not the only reason there is a story to tell.
